When life gets way too busy
Sometimes, life gets way too busy between setting too many goals for the day, balancing family demands, all my other work, and household responsibilities. I do want to slow down and enjoy each day, but I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to get so wrapped up in my to-do list that sometimes I forget to enjoy all of the little moments along the way.
Because I’m forever focusing on making better choices for a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating, I started keeping a few grab-and-go recipes with healthy ingredients on hand for boosting my energy and fueling my day when things are pulling me in all directions.
We all need a treat now and then, and here’s a deliciously healthy way to shake everything up by slowing down and taking five while satisfying your sweet tooth and boosting your energy.
Chocolate Almond Apple Oatmeal Protein Shake

- Blender
Ingredients
- 4-5 ice cubes
- ½ medium Granny Smith Apple
- 10 ounces unsweetened Almond Milk
- ½ packet gluten-free instant Oatmeal
- 2 tablespoons Almond Butter
- 1 scoop gluten-free Vanilla Protein Powder
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender.
- Pulse four to five times, then blend on high until smooth.
- Serve immediately in a tall glass. Enjoy!
