Your Ordinary Book Club...

It definitely does involve books, and it might even feel a tiny bit ‘Book Clubby-ish,’ but believe me when I tell you, this is altogether different from any book club you’ve ever experienced…

If It's Not A Book Club, What Is It?

I thought you’d never ask. The NOT so Ordinary Book Club is a joining together through openness and vulnerability. It’s a place to practice showing up, with courage, in front of others. It is small group coaching using books as a jumping-off point – the place from which we begin exploration.

You’re going to immerse yourself and marinate inside weekly digital coaching – personal emails with guidance and perfectly selected prompts, scripture-based devotions, prayers and action steps, complete with recipes. And then you’re gonna’ bring your JUICY reflections to our regular monthly hangouts.

This is growth for those who prefer a flight tribe, as well as a steady intake of pages. It’s unwrapping the book and turning the pages on some of the best titles on the market, and most importantly, this is unwrapping and turning pages on ourselves, exploring the landscape so we can fly higher than we have before.

Here's How It Works and What's Included:

  • Things get started with a welcome video,

    detailing the reading plan, what to expect, and preparing everyone for taking flight;

  • Then you get weekly digital coaching

    (AKA: emails that outline the reading assignments, some favorite quotes from the book we’re tackling all pulled apart, scripture-based devotions, prayers and thought-stirring ideas for rethinking the content, the JUICIEST most SCRUMPTIOUS recipes, questions and exercises that support you in living, going deeper, navigating new terrain, and applying your learnings);

  • Access 10 hours of LIVE ZOOM small group coaching

    –starting with a 60-minute opening call to set the tone. You’ll get monthly 90-minute coaching calls where we go deeper on the books and go deeper on you. And, by “deeper” we do, as a group go DEEPER – this is a profound dive — so, bring courage, openness, and expect vulnerability;

  • You’ll find a community of growth-oriented book lovers like yourself.

    With a max group size of eight, you’ll be aiming for strong connections – learning from, and with, the other page-turners in your flight tribe;

  • Direct access to Me

    for support via email;

  • Private Facebook Group

    for interacting with your flight tribe;

  • A commitment to yourself and your NOT so Ordinary Book Club

    When you’re in, you’re IN. Signing up for the NOT so Ordinary Book Club means attending, and participating in, a minimum of 4 small group coaching sessions. Because small group coaching means you’re an accountability-pal for yourself and everyone else in the flight tribe. You’ve gotta’ show up to grow up;

  • A final wrap-up that includes neatly compiled bundles

    of our favorite immersions and digital coaching parts from every book; and

  • A few secret gifts and goodies along the way.

The investment for a two-month club pass (all the same digital content and coaching) only for just one book, covered during a book’s two-month period, is two payments of $82.50 or $146 ($17/week) upfront.

Welcome newbie! I’m so happy you’re here. Digital coaching means you’ll be served up oodles of prompts, scripture-based devotions, prayers, questions, recipes and exercises via weekly emails – a full cocoon of thought-provoking goodies that will help you go deeper and feel supported in between our monthly calls.

Small group coaching is just that – a maximum of eight stunningly beautiful souls gathering together on monthly group coaching sessions. Together we’ll unwrap the individual and collective layers that the book elicits. This ain’t no webinar! This is showing up to keep growing up! Keeping these group coaching sessions small guarantees that each person here is seen and heard — we’re aiming for rich connection, nose-diving in deeply rooted growth, as opposed to dipping toes into the waters of anonymity and what-ifs. You won’t be asked to tell all, but you will be asked to tell some.

Books are not included in the flight. You’re encouraged to purchase them in advance or time your reserves at your local library or bookstore lending program accordingly.

All three selected titles will be announced in the month before the flight’s start and can be viewed online before signing up for the NOT so Ordinary Book Club. In other words, you’ll know everything in advance. For the January – June 2020 books, scroll back up, and you’ll see them listed out. July – December 2020 are currently TBA.

Two words – Breath. Love. Have you ever watched a movie and gotten more out of it the umpteenth time around than you did the first? And… have you ever read books that way? And… have you ever read a book and then read it again with a group of people and a personal coach leading the way on applying said book to your life?

‘Nuff said.

YES. We cover one book every two months (as opposed to a book a month). That means the max amount of reading in a single week works out to about 25 – 40 pages… in other words, four or five pages a day will get ya’ there.

NO. Because we’re not just reading. We’re reading to spread our wings. We’re reading, journaling, note-taking, thinking, processing, coaching, applying, reading some more, laughing, crying, talking, and GROWING to fly higher. You will not be bored.

but here are the dates for JANUARY – JUNE 2020

FLIGHT TRIBE 1 – Tuesday Mornings at 9:00 – 10:30 am CST: January 7, February 4, March 3, April 7, May 5, June 2, & Wrap-up June 30

FLIGHT TRIBE 2 – Thursday Evenings 5:30 – 7:00 pm CST: January 2, February 6, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, & Wrap-up June 25

Flight participants are required to attend a minimum of four of the seven small group coaching calls. Here’s why: at its core, the NOT so Ordinary Book Club is a group coaching program. It’s about shared experiences and about creating connection in ourselves and with others, and that doesn’t work when you don’t or can’t show up. For calls to thrive, they need active participants, in the here and now, present and fully engaged.

I get it. Sometimes life happens. If you miss a call, you miss a call. No worries. Just an FYI though – the calls are not recorded and are therefore not available for replay. We’re aiming for an equitable exchange of openness and vulnerability, and I feel like access to replays takes away from that. Cool? Cool.

Unfortunately, no. There are two only two intakes per year for the NOT so Ordinary Book Club. The first runs from January through the end of June. The second runs from July through the end of December.

not helping out, liars, promiscuity, cockiness, know-it-alls, being overly-dramatic, goal-less-ness, poor hygiene, chauvinism, lacking a sense of humor, excessive competitiveness, Laziness, horrifying spellers, people-bashing, criticism and mockery of others and their beliefs, flakiness (because flaky people are really unappealing), more swagger than substance, people who constantly manage others (those folks who think they have all the answers…)

Lambrusco, my iPad, popcorn suppers, dark chocolate, cookbooks, Almond-Rocca, historical romances, sun-bathing, weekend coffee with a good book in bed, PBS cooking shows, romantic comedies, cozy sweaters, fuzzy socks, and fragrant bubble baths with soft music and wine…
