Welcome to the revised Playing with Food – In the Kitchen, Garden & Studio eNewsletter!
Hello GfreeDeliciously Friend
I know it’s been a while since I popped into your email.
And while I’ve still been cooking up a storm, I’ve also been praying about a decision. Making that decision has kept me up at night. It’s about the Playing with Food eNewsletter and how to serve our subscribers best. That’s why PWF started its days about four months ago on Substack after struggling with eNews platforms and the best one to use for quite some time.
The Problem: Our Substack eNews didn’t offer a smooth interface with the website for our subscribers, and it was a significant time drain for me.
Substack has two significant benefits for eNewsletters when getting started No monthly fixed costs for publishers (that’s me), and it’s easy to set up.
However, as a recipe and health site owner (writer, blogger and health coach by trade), I felt that Substack was missing a few critical components when it comes to our subscribers:
• Proper post search capability
• Fully customizable emails for our subscribers
• Ability to show/hide elements for subscriber emails vs blog posts (front-end of site) keeping the good stuff for subscribers only
• And a bunch of detailed technical stuff that as a subscriber you probably don’t care about but I do
The lack of these and other features prompted me to find a better solution.
The Solution: Migrate Playing with Food from Substack to Our WordPress site.
Instead of bouncing between Substack and our site, I do everything inside WordPress with the help of the back-end plugin, Newsletter Glue.
Because I’m a one-woman show, it’s taken me a little while to complete the migration, but in the end, I’m sure it will be much better for you!
Here are a couple of things to note about your subscription…
Since the migration has already happened, you may have noticed a few onboarding emails landing in your inbox. You could follow the email links to access your online account if you did. But if you didn’t, here’s what’s essential for you to know:
• Playing with Food subscribers (that’s you) can set up a FREE Basic Pass account login by visiting THIS LINK to register your site account. Please note that you will need to confirm your email once you register.
• If you have paid for a VIP or Member+ subscription, your subscription benefits have transferred over, and an account (per your plan) has already been set up on the website. Please note that you will receive a separate email within the next few days to change the auto-generated site password for accessing your member content on GfreeDeliciously.
I’ve tried to make everything as painless as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while I worked through the recent PWF eNews migration.
I’m looking forward to posting new recipes on the site soon!

Get 50% Off – The GfreeDeliciously’s website and the Playing with Food eNewsletter are reader-supported. While it’s not all about making money, we can’t do our GfreeMagic as random posts and emails. GFD is a website, an eNewsletter, and a delicious tour through tested and perfected gluten-free recipes for foods that never compromise on taste. Modern-day gluten-free versions of everyday traditional foods for reimagined recipes – delicious, clean, and whole foods prepared a bit differently to eliminate gluten.
GfreeDeliciously is not a cult because gluten-free health coaches, cooks, and creators like me aren’t very good at leading cults (I’ll be the first to point out how little I know). Though, you can count on practical advice and inspiration for cooking, eating, and discovering a whole lot about being gluten-free.
Sign up for an annual subscription today and get 50% off. Plus, you’ll receive seasonal Enjoyology* emails that drop into your inbox with your paid subscription and lots of site freebies while supporting my work!
*Enjoyology is not technically a word, but it’s better than writing “Playing with Food” repeatedly.
