Tartar Sauce

Classic tartar sauce re-invented gluten-free and nearly guilt-free too!

About a year ago, a friend asked me what brand of store-bought Tartar Sauce I use because she was unable to find a suitable one. She went on to explain that in searching she’d been met with one disappointment after another and had become frustrated. She didn’t care that mine was gluten-free. She just wanted a great tartar sauce with good taste. Of course, I offered up my recipe right away.

Thinking back, I can’t remember ever not making homemade Tartar Sauce at our house. So, making a gluten-free version was second nature for me after being diagnosed with celiac disease. 

My friend LOVED it! She still raves about how simple it is to make with just a few ingredients, and about it being nearly guilt-free since it uses Greek yogurt as the main ingredient. Making this better-for-you tartar sauce is very easy. It’s a fresh and amazing way to sauce up Beer Batter Fish, fish sticks, crab cakes, and more. I hope you’ll rave about it too!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Yogurt plain, whole milk
  • ¼ cups Mayonnaise gluten-free
  • ¼ cups Pickle Relish sweet
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Peel raw
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients, mix to incorporate. Refrigerate until needed.
